Status Effects
Bleeding calls for a Bandage or Sterile Bandage. For the announced EA rebalance, poison calls for a Painkiller or Med-Kit; a Bandage does not cure it. Infection is cleared by Sterile Bandage or Painkiller. Avoid raw food; the earlier official status-effects update gives mushrooms a 30% poisoning chance.

Effect to treatment
The October 21 status-effects update and October 27 medical rebalance describe these outcomes. Read the status icon and select a treatment that clears that effect.

| Effect or trigger | Confirmed treatment | Wrong or limited choice |
|---|---|---|
| Bleeding from zombie attacks | Bandage or Sterile Bandage. | Painkiller is not described as a bleeding treatment. |
| Poison / food poisoning | Painkiller or Med-Kit in the EA rebalance. | Bandages no longer cure poison. |
| Infection from zombie attacks | Sterile Bandage or Painkiller; the earlier Medkit update says it removes all effects. | Ordinary Bandage only stops bleeding. |
Read the status, then verify recovery
The earlier status update says the health bar turns yellow when poisoned and green when infected; it also added status icons for bleeding, healing, infection and poisoning. Healing happens over time, with a visible progress indicator. Check that the unwanted effect disappears instead of judging by HP alone.
Food risk applies to eating
The earlier update says eating raw food causes poisoning and mushrooms have a 30% chance to poison. This is a consumption risk, not a claim that merely carrying either item poisons you. Cook food before eating when possible; use the poison treatment if the status appears.
